Paying it Forward
John Lennon said it best, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.”
So that is where I have been the past few months, dealing with life while making other plans. I’ve always tried to fight the “life happening” thing and just be in my own world, but eventually i came to find out that just isn’t realistic. Well, unless you want to go off the grid into the unknown, then that’s a whole different reality!
When I say the past few months I mean between five to six, not the assumed three. Few equals three, no? Anyway, to summarize the past five-six months in the best way possible I’d say they have been emotionally charging and depleting. Personally, professionally, and academically. Roller coaster type stuff. Ex-haus-ting. But that’s life right? People we know or don’t know can be the best and worst sources of pain in our lives.
So within the past five to six months, the past two months have been the real burners. Burner is the first word that came to mind because I “saw” the flame image. I can handle personal and professional issues, I’m a master at self talk and allow myself to feel all of the messy emotions when needed, then keep it moving. And by the way, I am able to do that from lots of practice my friends, lots of practice.
So the past two months, let’s get back to them. A month and a half (i think) I ago I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Grade III, Triple positive. Wham-O!! Hello life on life’s terms!
Now the story begins.
JerseyGypsy is based on my life and moves; physically and mentally. I will be sharing my story to be informative, but mostly to help others. I have been blessed to have people in my life that know what I am going through and what I will be going through. And please don’t misunderstand me, I am not blessed to say such amazing people that i know have had, or have cancer. I am blessed to know THEM. They have helped me thus far with their experience and it’s a no brainer to keep paying it forward.
My first chemotherapy treatment was yesterday….I am doing well thus far today. Stay tuned for the in’s and out’s of the week. (If you’re interested of course)
I will always be thanking my family and friends at the end of a blog entry because without them I would not be able to give and receive love like I do.
✌🏻 😘
Love you Pilar! I am praying for you!
