Life Is a Continuum
“I am made and remade continually. Different people draw different words from me.” Virginia Wolff
Virginia Wolff was one of the greats, her complexities and simplicities, extraordinary messages and stories, all created throughout her time, which was her life, we’re ever changing. We are all made and remade throughout our own lives, it is a metamorphosis from the day we breathe air to the day we stop breathing it. Life, it draws many versions of ourselves out of us.
I write quite often, every word is my authentic self. Admittedly, with full transparency, fear stops me from publishing my thoughts. Writing isn’t a post on social media for me; it’s an art for others to view, while tilting their heads to the left and to the right, pondering how it resonates and makes them feel.
Writing is my self portrait. Everywhere I’ve been, everyone I’ve met, and everything I’ve done has added another line on my canvas, which is a lot of lines by the way. Nothing can be erased, nothing can be thrown away, but what can be done is start over. It’s a pretty interesting concept, don’t ya think? Life will never go as we plan, never. There are things that are simply out of our control no matter how many if’s, and’s, or but’s we try to use. Acceptance of what is. Say that a few times to yourself. Now, I understand acceptance is not the easiest to do, to some it means complacency or giving up. I think that is the furthest thing from the truth. We cannot find peace of mind by avoiding what life brings us, I have learned that the hard way many times. Making decisions, doing our very best to manage and handle our emotions and mindset, we have control of that. But oh, there is so much more to life.
With the new year almost here, a socially repetitious night making resolutions to change the life we were living twenty four hours prior, with all I have just said I leave you with this.
Life is a continuum. Experience life without fear, but also with grace. Evolve while understanding the process will not always be satisfying, but attainable to be satisfied. Individually we grow to what we hopefully love and want our daily life to be filled with, there will always be complications and resistance, but care for those problems just as much you should care for yourself. Our lifelong sequence of events; the dots we connect to paint our own portrait, don’t let time paint them for you.
